SUMMER COACHES NEEDED!!!

At the Milwaukee Tennis & Education Foundation (MTEF), we're passionate about providing tennis programming to the youth in the greater Milwaukee area, and we're currently looking for energetic, passionate and hard-working individuals to join our team as Summer Tennis Coaches.

Our summer tennis program offers a blended curriculum of tennis, fitness, life-skills, enrichment, and more. Coaches are responsible for leading and supervising groups of children throughout the day. They implement programs and activities based on a provided schedule and are responsible for the general safety and wellbeing of the campers.

Programming runs June 10 – August 3. Mandatory training sessions during the week of June 3.

We have both full time (Monday – Friday, 8:30am- 4:30pm) and part time positions (M-F 8:30-12:30 or 1:00-4:30) available. Evening opportunities also available.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organize and lead a variety of Tennis and Non-Tennis small and large group activities each day. 

  • Be a quality role model for children

  • Be able to encourage, support and set limits for children

  • Develop an appropriate coach/camper relationship with every camper

  • Be aware and effectively address the group and social dynamics of campers.

  • Communicate with camp director about participant’s experiences (positive and negative).

  • Ability to contribute to the MTEF team through spirit, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn.

  • Participation in activities such as spirit days, camp programs, etc.

  • Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the camp and all program areas. This includes but is not limited to being responsible for your campers’ safety and their whereabouts at all times.

  • Ensure that the site is kept clean, organized, and free of litter.

Qualifications

  • A passion for and/or experience with the game of tennis

  • Ability to lead, plan, organize, and implement program activities.

  • Ability to work as a member of a team and the ability to accomplish tasks with little direct supervision.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Willingness to have fun and encourage community at camp.

  • Prior experience teaching or working with children preferred

  • Upon hire, completion of USTA Safe Play certification and NCIS background check.

Multiple Positions available. Starting wage ranges from $12-17 an hour depending on age and skill level of applicant.
