New for 2009…
For the first time ever, our Sherman Park site was included in three divisions of USTA Jr. Team Tennis. As Milwaukee’s largest Community Tennis Association (CTA), MTEF has administered the Milwaukee Jr. Team Tennis League for the past seven years with the hope of one day of having teams from our program in the league.
With the help of two USTA consultants, MTEF developed a comprehensive, four-component measurement system that measures and tracks students' performance in academics, tennis, fitness and healthy living, attitude and attendance. To print a copy of the MTEF Measurement System, click here.
MTEF offered QuickStart Tennis at both Sherman Park and Kosciuszko for children 5-8 years old in two levels – 5-6 year old QST and 7-8 year old QST. In addition, QST is utilized at schools participating in the CLC Programs. QuickStart Tennis is an exciting new play format for learning tennis, designed to bring kids into the game by adapting the equipment, court dimensions and the scoring to the age and size of children.
