Summer TEAM Program

2012 SUMMER TEAM PROGRAM
The 2012 Summer TEAM program is expected to serve over 1,500 Milwaukee youth of all ages with tennis, literacy, life skills, nutrition, and fitness programs in partnership with the Milwaukee Public Schools Department of Recreation and Community Services and the Milwaukee County Parks Department.
Recent academic research has shown that a large part of the urban-suburban school performance gap can be attributed to differing summer activities. MTEF works to narrow this gap, providing urban kids a daily dose of literacy activities throughout the summer months.

“Signing Charlee up for MTEF is one of the best things that has happened to her,” stated Charlee’s mom, Vanessa Goodman. “The First Serve program has improved Charlee’s self-esteem, confidence, and social skills, not to mention how much her tennis has improved.”
