After School Programs
TEAM
Tennis, Education and Mentoring (TEAM) is an intensive school-year tennis, education, and life skills development program. Working in close partnership with local schools and youth-serving organizations, MTEF’s After-School TEAM Program delivers an intensive 26 week experience for urban elementary and middle school students. TEAM provides equal amounts of academic support, tennis instruction, and life skills development in a structured, supportive environment. Our activities focus not only on building tennis and literacy skills but promoting resiliency among young people facing challenges on the path to adulthood.
We Get Results
Since inception, MTEF has helped thousands of urban youth succeed against difficult odds in challenging environments and we have set short, medium, and long-term goals to measure our own progress. To learn more about our measurement plans and goals, click here.

“Signing Charlee up for MTEF is one of the best things that has happened to her,” stated Charlee’s mom, Vanessa Goodman. “The First Serve program has improved Charlee’s self-esteem, confidence, and social skills, not to mention how much her tennis has improved.”
