MTEF’s critically acclaimed High Performance TEAM program serves approximately 50 children who, along with their parents, make a three-year commitment to attend MTEF instructional activities year round. This is an invitation-only program for 4th through 12th grade children.
Based upon the recommendation of summer instructors, MTEF identifies students who have displayed good behavior and are motivated to excel academically, socially and on the tennis court. These students are invited to join our High Performance TEAM, which begins in mid-August each year.
Interested students and their families are interviewed and HP TEAM requirements are reviewed. Each potential candidate and his/her parents must agree to provide quarterly report cards and to attend 85% of all tennis and classroom sessions.
During the school year, tennis, tutoring and mentoring are provided at Marquette University, using the Helfaer Tennis and Recreation Center courts and Cramer Hall classrooms. Additional court time is provided by Moorland Tennis & Pickleball Club in New Berlin.
Summer instruction in tennis, academics, fitness, nutrition, mentoring and the NJTL’s award winning Life Skills program takes place at Milwaukee’s Merrill Park.
High Performance TEAM members participate in Jr. TEAM Tennis every Wednesday during the summer. Our final event is the week-long Summer MTEF TEAM Cup tournament at Merrill Park.
