FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
(FAQ'S)

What is the Scoring for local league play?
All Greater Milwaukee League competition will consist of the best 2 out of 3 sets, with a set tiebreak (first to 7, win by a margin of 2) when games reach 6 all.  Regular scoring shall be used.  Playing a tiebreak in lieu of the third set is NOT an option for summer USTA Local League play.

In the GML Playoffs will you play out the third set?
The GML Playoffs, August 1-3, will use the match tiebreak (first to 10, win by a margin of 2) in lieu of the third set.  This is different from the league season where the third set is played out.

If we are not able to field at least three out of the five positions necessary for a match can we forfeit the entire team match?
No, total team (all courts) forfeits will NOT be allowed (see rule D 5).  The Local League Coordinators will require the match to be rescheuled if not played on the scheduled date.

If I qualify for the GML Playoffs in the 4.5 and 5.0 levels would I be able to compete in both?
Individuals qualifying for two levels within the same division (i.e., 4.5 men and 5.0 men) may compete in both levels at the GML Playoffs.  If both teams qualify for the State Playoffs that same individaul would then have to choose one of the two teams.  Click here for a copy of the 2008 Player Decision Form.
