Welcome to the official website of the 2008 Greater Milwaukee League (GML). As the official community tennis association of Milwaukee and the surrounding areas, MTEF is proud to be your source for league tennis information and news. The GML continues to be the largest league in the Midwest Section with over 5,500 total players competing in seven divisions - Women, Men, Senior, Super Senior, Mixed Doubles, Senior Mixed Doubles and Combo divisions.
This GML Web page is the collaborative effort of the Greater Milwaukee League and the Milwaukee Tennis & Education Foundation. FORMS This site will be updated on a daily basis as information changes throughout the year. We will attempt to list all necessary forms in pdf documents for your convenience. Please scroll down this page to find all forms and documents necessary for the 2008 league season.
RATINGS The official 2007 USTA Ratings are available on the USTA website at http://national.usta.com/. Click on "Find a Rating" under league players. You can search an individual rating by name or USTA number. To see the list of ratings for an entire team, enter the team number from 2007. "Drill down Search" will show ratings for the entire Milwaukee League or a specific flight.
PLAYER APPEALS If a player wishes to appeal his/her rating they may do so by printing out the 2008 Player Appeal Form.

CAPTAIN'S CHANCE TO WIN A TRIP TO THE 2008 U.S. OPEN Every time captain's get two new players to join the USTA and sign up for their 2008 USTA League team, or have two former players renew their membership (not an active member since June 2007), and sign up for their 2008 team, we will submit your name for the USTA/Midwest Section League U.S. Open Captain Trip contest. And….for every two additional new players they sign-up by August 1, 2008, they'll get more chances to win.

ADULT LEAGUE HANDBOOK AND RULES The 2008 GML Handbook will be available in a few weeks. The handbook is complete with all information and forms necesary for league play. It will be listed here when it becomes available.
WOMEN'S LEAGUE With 2,300 players, the women's league is the largest component of the GML, offering competitive play for women 19 and older from NTRP levels 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 4.5 and 5.0. In order to determine which teams will advance to the State Championships in Madison, a season ending GML Playoff is held at Heyer Park from August 1-3, 2008, followed by the Wisconsin State Championships August 8-10. MEN'S LEAGUE The Greater Milwaukee Men's League consists of 1,190 players competing in 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0 and 5.5 divisions. GML Men's play begins in late May and culminates August 3-5 at the GML Playoffs at Heyer Park, followed by the State Championships August 1-3 at Heyer Park in Waukesha. SENIOR LEAGUE To be eligible for Senior League tennis you must turn 50 years old during the 2008 calendar year. Approximately 650 players compete in the Greater Milwaukee Senior Leagues in the 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5 levels. The team format consists of three doubles matches. Lois Darkow and Sue Chavin are the co-coordinators of the Senior Women's League and Donna Nisleit and Lisa Treinen coordinate the Senior Men's League. The GML Senior Playoffs will be held August at Heyer Park, followed by the Senior State Championships in Waukesha August 8-10. The USTA/Midwest Section Senior Championships are held August 22-24 in Indianapolis, IN.
SENIOR MIXED DOUBLES LEAGUE Senior Mixed Doubles is available to men and women who are at least 50 years old. Players compete in 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 and 9.0 in a team format of three mixed doubles matches. SENIOR WOMEN'S SINGLES This new league is available to senior women in a three court singles league format. One flight consists of a 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 singles matches. The second flight will consist of 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5 singles matches. Matches will be played Friday mornings at 9:00 a.m. Lois Darkow is the Senior Women's Coordinator. SUPER SENIOR LEAGUE Super Senior League tennis is available for men and women turning 60 years old sometime in 2007. Approximately 90 players compete throughout the summer in the 6.0, 7.0 and 8.0 levels in a team doubles format. Individual player ratings are combined and together they must stay within the designated level of play, i.e. a 3.5 and 3.0 player would not be eligible to play in the Super Senior 6.0 division. MIXED DOUBLES LEAGUE The Mixed Doubles League is available to adults 19 and older in 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0 and 10.0 levels in a team format of three doubles matches. Matches will be held on Friday nights at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday's between 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. Men's and women's ratings are combined and together they must stay within the designated level of play. The 2008 Mixed Doubles State Championships will be held September 6-7, at Heyer Park in Waukesha. COMBO DOUBLES LEAGUE Milwaukee is the fastest growing USTA League Tennis Combo Doubles program in the Midwest Section. If you aren't playing with your friends due to different NTRP levels, this is the program for you. All you need to do is combine the NTRP levels of your friends and yourself to compete in 6.5, 7.5 or 8.5 women's' doubles in a team format of three doubles matches, (example: Friend 4.0 + you 3.5 = 7.5 team). Women's Combo Doubles begins in late August and continues through September and October.
