Both MTEF and USTA are committed to providing a meaningful and practical hands-on workshop for recreational coaches in the Milwaukee community. The purpose of the MTEF/USTA Recreational Coaches Workshops is to provide participants with a solid foundation for effective teaching practices, an understanding of the Games Based Approach to Coaching and how to teach large groups, as well as the proper use of teaching aids.
These entry-level workshops are ideal for inexperienced teachers, seasonal coaches, or anyone else working with children or adults at the development level. Recreational Coach Workshops emphasize fun ways to teach USTA Tennis programs for groups of both children and adults.
Workshops range in length from three to six hours, taking participants through a series of hands-on lesson formats and offering tips for those new to instruction as well as those coaches with experience. Curriculum handouts will be provided. These workshops are a great opportunity to play, learn, and have fun while doing it. The June 1st Recreational Coach Workshop is mandatory for all TEAM outreach instructors. To print registration forms see details below.
