Overview
As popular as tennis is, there are literally millions of people who have yet to be introduced to the game and many others who will play more often, if given the opportunity. As Milwaukee's official Community Tennis Association (CTA), and National Junior Tennis League (NJTL) Chapter, MTEF assists in the delivery, support, and integration of tennis programs in this community.
As a USTA Tennis Grant Recipient, MTEF has demonstrated a commitment to promote the sport of tennis in the Milwaukee community. MTEF works with the Wisconsin Tennis Association (a district of the USTA), the USTA / Midwest Section (a section of the USTA) and the United States Tennis Association to offer meaningful programs and activities to residents of the Milwaukee community which are open and accessible to everyone. For the past five years, MTEF has been fueled by approximately 250 local volunteers annually, who support events such as the NJTL TEAM Outreach program, USTA Junior Team Tennis, Milwaukee Tennis Ball, and USTA School Tennis. Our goal is to offer events and programs that facilitate an increased interest in the sport of tennis and to nurture new program sites in facilities that otherwise would not have the opportunity to offer tennis.
Four popular events planned for this year are the NJTL Regional Rally, USTA Junior Team Tennis and the USTA Recreational Coach Workshop.
