About MTEF

Our Goals

The overall mission of MTEF is to make Milwaukee a better place to live, work, play and learn through tennis.  In May of 2005, the MTEF Board of Directors unanimously approved a three-year strategic plan which focused on two strategic priorities (1) TEAM, and ( 2) Community Tennis Development.  This plan articulates the vision and the mission of the MTEF, as well as our core values, goals and strategic priorities.  The elements determine the direction as well as permeate the actions and thinking of every activity within the MTEF.  The goals and strategic priorities guide decision-making and are a commitment to achieving the mission statement.  To view the MTEF Strategic and Operation Plan in a pdf document click here.  You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader to view this file.  (Don't have it?  Download it here).

Reach out to as many children as possible - promoting the number of youngsters who play vs. focusing on the competitive excellence of a few.

Focus on relationships with schools, parks and recreation departments and community organizations.

Support youth programs and services with human and financial resources.

Work with local governments and schools to keep and maintain tennis courts in public parks and at school facilities.

Promote tennis as a family sport for people of all ages.

Coordinate with community organizations and law enforcement agencies to provide programming in appropriate areas of the city.

Teach tennis to diverse populations (wheelchair and deaf athletes).

Raise sufficient revenue to support program and educational activities.

We are always looking for donations of shoes and clothes as many participants cannot afford proper attire

Solicit financial support/grants from potential institutional and individual donors.

Support other fundaising events, including our biggest fundraiser, the Milwaukee Tennis Ball.

Require 100% board participation as individual donors.

Consider hosting other tennis-related events as a method for generating revenue.
