2010 MTEF Tennis Ball Dinner & Auction Gala

The Milwaukee Tennis & Education Foundation (MTEF), a local chapter of the national organization co-founded by Arthur Ashe, is gearing up for its 12th Annual MTEF Tennis Ball Dinner & Auction, titled “Empowering a child…priceless."  This year’s event held Friday, September 24, will bring together many special guests, including supporters, partners, local dignitaries and community leaders.

For 2010, MTEF has established a goal of $150,000 profit and 450 attendees.  Last year MTEF raised $4000,000 to support our programs with $114,000 coming from the proceeds of the Tennis Ball.  Evening highlights will include emcees Steve “The Homer” True, the 2010 MTEF video, as well as entertainment from one of the area’s most popular groups, the Brew City Horns.

Charlee Goodman
8th Grade First Serve Participant

Charlee wants to be an architect when she grows up; first of all, she wants to attend the University of Pennsylvania. Lofty ambitions for a young lady who hasn’t even graduated from the 8th grade yet! Once you get to know Charlee a little better, you might not want to bet against her.

“Signing Charlee up for MTEF is one of the best things that has happened to her,” stated Charlee’s mom, Vanessa Goodman.  “The First Serve program has improved Charlee’s self-esteem, confidence, and social skills, not to mention how much her tennis has improved.”
