Recreational Coach Workshop

RCW5

MTEF and the USTA are committed to providing a meaningful and practical hands-on workshop for recreational coaches in the Milwaukee community. The purpose of the MTEF/ USTA Recreational Coach Workshop is to provide participants with a solid foundation for effective teaching practices, the Games Based Approach to Coaching, teaching large groups and the proper use of teaching aids.

  RCW4

This summer's Recreational Coach Workshop will be held on Sunday, June 3rd at Nicolet High School in Glendale.  Rick Vetter and Shelly Kindig-Bugg, certified USTA national trainers, will conduct the workshop.

RCW1

This six-hour workshop takes participants through a series of hands-on lesson formats and offers tips for those new to instruction as well as those coaches with experience. Curriculum handouts will be provided at no cost.  These entry-level workshops are ideal for inexperienced teachers, seasonal coaches, or anyone else working with children or adults at the recreational level.  Recreational Coach Workshops emphasize fun ways to teach USTA Tennis programs to groups of either children or adults.

Charlee Goodman
8th Grade First Serve Participant

Charlee wants to be an architect when she grows up; first of all, she wants to attend the University of Pennsylvania. Lofty ambitions for a young lady who hasn’t even graduated from the 8th grade yet! Once you get to know Charlee a little better, you might not want to bet against her.
