Jay Picture
Jay Massart
Executive Director
Jay Massart is responsible for the day-to-day operations of MTEF.  Under Massart’s leadership, MTEF has become a strong organization that impacts the tennis landscape in the Milwaukee area.
Winner of Wisconsin’s prestigious Bill Letwin Award in 2001 and the USTA Eve Kraft Award in 2003, for contributions to the community and ongoing development of tennis, Massart began teaching the game he’s played since childhood in 1983.  He is his 19th summer as the director of tennis at Milwaukee Country Club, and he has been a teaching pro at the Elite Clubs for 15 years.
Massart is one of only three USPTA Master Professionals in Wisconsin.  A member of the Midwest USPTA Hall of Fame, Massart is the current chair of the USTA NJTL National Committee and an at-large member of the WTA Management Committee.

Diana Miramontes
Office Manager
Diana Miramontes studied computer technology at Mount Mary College and has worekd as an adminsitrative assistant for a number of companies and organizations, including Bell Ambulance, The Private Industry Council of Milwaukee County, and the Journey House Youth Center.  A Milwaukee native, Miramontes is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Wendy Orthober
Controller

Wendy Orthober graduated from Miami Univerity (Oxford, OH) in 1989 with a degree in accounting. She received her CPA in Novermber 1989.  Orthober worked for the accounting firm of Ernst & Young in the audit department in Chicago from 1989-1990.
After getting married, she moved back to Milwaukee and worked for Marshall & llsley Corporation in the Internal Audit Division from 1990-1992.  Orthober moved into M & I’s Capital Market Group in 1992 as their CFO. 
In 2002, after her third child was born, Orthober “retired” from the CFO job and now works on a part-time basis as the director of investor realtions.
Steve O’Connell
Development Coordinator

Steve O’Connell was introduced to MTEF seven years ago when he was the executive director of the Sherman Park Community Association. The Foundation was moving to Sherman Park and was accepted by the Ford Foundation as one of four programs across the country that was to introduce tennis to children in large metropolitan neighborhoods.

O’Connell has worked in Catholic schools and educational programs as an administrator and development director for over 25 years. Serving as part of the MTEF fund raising effort, O’Connell researches and writes grants, helps to promote the Foundation, and assists the Tennis Ball Steering Committee.
Roschke Picture
Gloria Roschke
Academic Coordinator
Born in Texas, Roschke has spent most of her life in Milwaukee.  She is a graduate of Brookfield East High School, and began attending the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a minor in math and social studies. 
Roschke currently is a seventh grade teacher at the Milwaukee Academy of Science, a charter school on Milwaukee’s North Side.
Roschke is married and has two children – a 4 year old daughter and 1-year-old son.
She began working with MTEF this past summer.  “I was drawn to this organization after reading about the amazing work they do with our city’s youth”, stated Roschke.  “I was especially impressed to see the number of children that MTEF has touched over the years….I feel extremely privileged to join such a well respected organization and look forward to the journey ahead.”

Charlee Goodman
8th Grade First Serve Participant

Charlee wants to be an architect when she grows up; first of all, she wants to attend the University of Pennsylvania. Lofty ambitions for a young lady who hasn’t even graduated from the 8th grade yet! Once you get to know Charlee a little better, you might not want to bet against her. 

“Signing Charlee up for MTEF is one of the best things that has happened to her,” stated Charlee’s mom, Vanessa Goodman.  “The First Serve program has improved Charlee’s self-esteem, confidence, and social skills, not to mention how much her tennis has improved.”
